A Coronation Sunday sandwich starring TV royalty

TV star Lizzie Cundy arrived at Ustreme studios today to continue Coronation celebrations alongside Jim Davidson and Debbie Arnold – after a full day and night of reporting on the historic occasion.

The trio filmed the latest episode of Jim’s Sunday Sandwich, which sees the “hen-pecked” comedian put in his place by two opinionated women as they discuss the latest bonkers goings-on in the news.

Today’s Royal-themed episode comes after Lizzie spent the day yesterday reporting on the Coronation of King Charles III, which received rolling national news coverage, before finally making it home at 3am.

She said: “I have been covering the Coronation for GB News and Talk TV so I was out there all day and then manning the phones for people’s calls from 10pm-1am.

“There were actually quite a few calls from people saying they were unhappy with Camilla being made Queen, which I wasn’t expecting, but overall everyone was so positive about the whole thing.

“There is nobody in the world who could put on an occasion like that, in the way we do it, and it makes you so proud to be British.

“It was an incredible celebration. You wish the people responsible for putting on these things were in charge of running the country!

“I had a few tears at times. The moment Prince William kissed his father on the cheek was a lovely moment.

“I love having a monarchy and it has been an honour and privilege to be  able to cover it.”

After appearing on Jim’s Sunday Sandwich, Lizzie was then travelling to RAF Odiham, where Coronation rehearsals had been held, and covering  a street party before going home for a well-earned rest and to watch tonight’s concert on TV.

She added: “I’ve hardly had any sleep but I love doing Jim’s Sunday Sandwich. It just feels like three friends having a catch up, so even though I’m shattered, it was still a highlight of the weekend to do the show.”

Lizzie is a regular contributor to TV debates, with dozens of appearances on This Morning, Good Morning Britain, Sky News and GB News, as well as having columns on beauty, style and show business in OK, Town and Country House, and the Daily Express.
