COMEDIANS: Jim Davidson’s Ustreme to produce new fast-paced stand-up show

Jim Davidson’s Ustreme is producing a new fast and furious comedy stand-up show to be filmed in front of live audiences and shown exclusively on the streaming channel.

Twelve stand-up comics – including Jim himself – will take to the stage to perform 20-minute sets which will then be edited together into half-hour shows for the star’s streaming channel.

The show, called Comedians, will be filmed at The Gaiety, in Southsea, on November 23rd and 24th.

It will follow a similar format to the hugely popular TV show The Comedians, which was shown in the 70s, 80s and 90s and gave a stage to nightclub and working men’s club comics including Russ Abbot, Jim Bowen, Mick Miller, Jimmy Jones and Roy Walker.

Some of the original stars have already been signed up to perform in Jim Davidson’s Ustreme version of the show, along with other comedians personally chosen by the master of comedy himself.

He said: “Our aim at Ustreme is to make people laugh like they used to.

“Comedy shouldn’t be about giving lectures to an audience. The world’s mad and sad enough, and people just want to enjoy themselves and have a bloody good laugh.

“The theatre is booked for the live shows, which will be filmed over two nights, and then edited down into hilarious 30-minute episodes filled with joke after joke from each of our comedians for Ustreme. It’ll be great…don’t you worry about that!”

Ticket information for the live performances will be available soon.
