Jim’s fans donate £800 for Alzheimer’s Research UK

Generous audience members at Jim Davidson’s sell-out gig in Weymouth have raised almost £800 for Alzheimer’s Research UK.

The comedian usually collects money for the independent Caister Lifeboats at his gigs up and down the country. But he let Ustreme PR Vicky Nash collect for the dementia charity after his Weymouth gig to support her London Marathon fund.

Jim received a standing ovation following his performance at Weymouth Pavilion on Sunday, March 12 – his first show at the venue in three years.

He said: “It was a fantastic gig. There were 1,000 people in and every one of them was really up for a good laugh.

“It was great to be back, Weymouth!”

Vicky, who lives in Weymouth and is running London Marathon on April 23 in memory of her nan and grandad, collected for Alzheimer’s Research UK after the show and received almost £800 in donations.

She said: “THANK YOU so much to everyone who gave money. Jim really does have the most wonderful fans. I am absolutely overwhelmed with the generosity.

“It has made a huge difference to my fundraising total. Let’s go smash this marathon!”
