Ustreme bags Jimmy Jones’ back catalogue of stand-up shows

Hilariously filthy and f**king funny, outspoken comedian Jimmy Jones has been billed as the “daddy of comedy” – and Ustreme is delighted to have bagged his back catalogue to be streamed exclusively on the channel.

In over 65 years in showbiz, the comedy legend has reigned as one of the country’s most successful live comedians, and is regarded by Ustreme founder Jim Davidson as the biggest influence in his career.

One of the original stars of hit TV show The Comedians, Jimmy was also one of the pioneers of comedy on video, with his debut video ‘Live at Kings – Eastbourne’ selling more than 75,000 copies.

Ustreme has now signed a deal to stream six of his outrageous and hilarious stand-up shows, with more to follow.

The shows will form part of Ustreme’s Friday Night Comedy Live programme, which sees a stand-up show from a comedy legend streamed every week.

Jim Davidson, who says it was seeing Jimmy on stage at the Montague Arms that made him pursue a career in comedy, said: “He is just a fantastic comedian. I first saw him at the Montague Arms in Peckham when I was a young lad.

“He paints pictures with his jokes. He could read the telephone directory and have you spellbound.

“To me, he’s the king of comedy that was never crowned, and we have remained great friends for all of these years. He was my comedy mentor and I love him.

“We’re delighted to have signed a deal for his stand-up shows. You won’t see Jimmy on your mainstream TV channels, but we love him here at Ustreme and know people will laugh like they used to watching him.”
