Jim Davidson: Smitten? Yes. Engaged? No!
Loved-up Jim Davidson has put the record straight about his romance with girlfriend Natasha after the tabloids reported a wedding was on the cards.
The press “revealed” Ustreme founder Jim was preparing to walk down the aisle for a sixth time after the smitten star appeared with Natasha at Nigel Farage’s 60th birthday bash.
Reports said Jim – who did a speech for birthday boy Farage at the showbiz event held at Boisdale in Canary Wharf – had been overheard telling fellow guests that he couldn’t wait to marry Natasha.
But during an episode of This Week for Ustreme, Jim said there was no rush for anyone to buy a wedding hat just yet.
And he revealed the cheeky celeb to have broken news of his not-so-upcoming nuptials to the Daily Mail was none other than his mate Lizzie Cundy, who was also at the star-studded party and couldn’t contain her happiness at seeing her pal so in love.
Jim has been with Natasha for seven months since the pair met at Southampton Boat Show following his separation from wife, Michelle. The pair’s divorce was finalised last month and they remain friends.
He said: “After Michelle and I separated, I remember sitting in the new house and thinking, “What are you doing here?”
“So I’d rattle around and then go to the pub and drink myself into oblivion when I wasn’t working.
“You don’t think about what it’s going to be like after the marriage ends. You were married, you had your dogs and you knew where everything was in the house. Now suddenly you’re in this new house that you don’t know and you’re on your own.
“And then I went to the boat show and met a lady. Her name is Natasha and she’s fabulous.
“We’ve been together seven months and we’re very happy.
“She has a family and a house. She looks after her children and does some part-time work. She’s not my PA as it said in the papers and we’re not engaged as it says in the papers.
“Why would she want to get engaged and married to me? I’ve got nothing to give her or leave her anymore following this last divorce! So unless I get rich fast, I’m not much of a catch!
“So, yes, I have a girlfriend but we don’t live together. I love her and she loves me but there’s no truth in the engagement rumour.
“The Sun got it right though – I am smitten!”
