Jim Davidson renames beloved boat after new love, Natasha

Jim Davidson has renamed his beloved boat after girlfriend, Natasha.

The comedian conducted official purging and renaming ceremonies to appease the Gods of the sea and winds and officially change the boat’s name.

The Princess 61 vessel was previously called Princess Mitchie. But after divorcing his ex-wife Michelle and finding new love, he has now unveiled the boat’s new name…Lady Natasha.

Due to seafaring superstition, the star had to follow strict rules before the unveiling, including removing all evidence of the original name, asking for Poseidon to remove the previous name from his books and accept the new one, making speeches to the wind Gods and pouring Champagne into the sea.

He held the renaming ceremony in the company of Natasha and friends at Southampton’s Ocean Village.

He said: “People had been asking me what I was going to call the boat. And so now you know…it’s now named after my darling girlfriend, Natasha.

“Princess Mitchie has ceased to be and she’s now named Lady Natasha. I think the boat seems quite happy about it.

“So, there we are. The birth of a boat born out of a wonderful relationship.”

Jim said Natasha wanted to make it clear she’d had nothing to do with the name change but was flattered by the grand gesture.

She added: “It really was nothing to do with me but it was a lovely idea, and we had a wonderful day with friends for the naming ceremony, despite the weather.”
