“Proper Comedians” go down a storm in un-PC stand-up spectacular

Some of the country’s best and most loved veteran comics appeared on stage for Ustreme’s hilarious stand-up show, Proper Comedians.

The show – which revived the spirit of old ITV hit The Comedians – was performed in front of sell-out crowds over two nights at the Gaiety Bar, in Southsea.

Jimmy Jones, Mick Miller, Bobby Davro, Mike Osman and Duncan Norvelle were among the legends performing, alongside up-and-coming stars Cerys Nelmes, Clive Cooper, Justin Panks and Nik Coppin – as well as the master of comedy, Ustreme founder Jim Davidson OBE himself.

Around 1,000 people flocked to the seaside venue over the two nights for the comedy spectacular. The shows will now be edited into 30-minute episodes to be streamed exclusively on Ustreme.

Jim, who produced and hosted the show, said: “The motto of Ustreme is to make people laugh like they used to – and that’s exactly what we did.

“We don’t do ‘cancel culture’ at Ustreme and there was no political correctness from this line-up…don’t you worry about that!

“It was a pleasure bringing together some of the best comedians we’ve ever had in this country on to the same stage and we can’t wait for those who couldn’t be there in person to see their amazing performances on Ustreme soon.”
